Columbia, South Carolina (March 5, 2022) — End Abortion Now, in partnership with
Action for Life, are forwarding legislation in South Carolina to establish equal protection
for preborn children.

Rep. Jonathon Hill (R) and seven other lawmakers serve as co-sponsors of the Unborn
Victims of Violence Act (H4046). The legislation declares that the state of South Carolina
and members of the General Assembly are obligated to use their authority, as consistent
with the United States Constitution, to nullify the opinions of the Supreme Court of the
United States in Roe v. Wade, thereby protecting preborn babies from murder.

When passed, the legislation will penalize any violent crime that causes the death of, or
bodily injury to, a preborn child with the same punishment provided for the death or
bodily injury to the child’s mother.

“The number of babies murdered each year in South Carolina has risen year-over-year
for the last three years, said Hill. The Roe decision happened because states failed to
protect life from conception and failed to prescribe equal penalties for taking unborn
lives. Unlike other bills that have been proposed in South Carolina, H.4046 confronts
both of these issues head-on by declaring that abortion is murder, and requiring it to be
prosecuted as such, regardless of what the Supreme Court decides.”

justice for us, interposing on our behalf by laying down His life for ours. Likewise, we
should interpose for our preborn neighbors and establish justice on their behalf”, said
