It has been a brutal week for The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper – which is dealing with massive backlash from fans of the University of South Carolina and its athletic programs.
What happened? On Sunday morning, the paper ran a headline in its print editions that some feel mocked a charity established by the family of freshman quarterback Ryan Hilinski, whose brother Tyler Hilinski committed suicide last January.
