SUMMERVILLE — Join the Libertarian Party of Dorchester County’s first event of the year with special guest speaker, Rep. Jonathon Hill. Rep. Hill will give a preview of the liberty issues that will be considered in the South Carolina State House this upcoming legislative session. Rep. Hill will discuss issues such as the Compassionate Care Act and medical cannabis, constitutional carry, and pro-life issues.
“I look forward to speaking about issues that I will be championing this next legislative session,” Hill remarked, “this should be a great opportunity to meet and hear from other like minded individuals.”
The DCLP was recently reorganized in October of 2018 and elected new officers and board to the party. County Party Chair, CJ Westfall of Summerville, expressed his excitement for the future.
“As the fastest growing chapter of the South Carolina Libertarian Party, we are excited for 2019,” Said Westfall, “Our party is poised for even more growth as we champion the ideals of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual rights. We plan to hit the new year running by hosting events and speakers that share our message, in preparation for the 2020 election cycle.”
“The political world is changing and we need to adapt to that change. In this previous election cycle we saw the Republicans lose a congressional seat that they’ve held for 30 years,” Westfall continued, “The people are no longer happy with the status quo; they want fresh ideas and leaders that they feel will represent them. This is where our party will step up to remind South Carolinians of limited government and free market solutions.”
The event with Rep. Hill will be held on January 16, 2019 at 7 PM at TOAST! of Summerville. This event is for all to attend regardless of party affiliation and a FREE beer will be given to all new Libertarian Party members.
The address for this event is: 717 Old Trolley Rd, Summerville, SC 29845
